Texas City Teen Hit By Train Dies, Said Police

Jason Trevino, 15, and a sophomore at La Marque High School, was killed while riding his bicycle along the train tracks.

TEXAS CITY, TX — A 15-year-old La Marque High School student was killed Wednesday evening after being hit by a train. Police said Jason Trevino, a sophomore, was riding his bicycle near the tracks at State Highway 3 and FM 1764, when he was hit as he tried to cross the tracks.

Union Pacific officials said the operator sounded the horn before the child was hit. Trevino is the third Texas City ISD student to die in 2019.

Earlier this month a 5-year-old child and her two siblings were murdered by her mother's boyfriend at the Point Ann Apartments, and a week later, 7-year-old Xavion Young wandered from his home and drowned in a retention pond near his apartment complex.
