Watch: The Spot In Galveston Is Robbed

Once the robber got what he wanted, he hit one of the employees in the head with his weapon, and fired a shot inside the restaurant.

GALVESTON, TX — A 19-year-old man is recovering after he was pistol whipped during a robbery at a popular Galveston watering hole and restaurant. Police said the robbery happened at The Spot, located in the 3200 block of Seawall Blvd at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, as the place was closing for the night.

Witnesses said the man came in and pulled out a revolver, and demanded cash. The employee told police that the man stormed in and made customers and employees get on their knees before forcing him to open the safe.

Once the robber got what he wanted, he hit one of the employees in the head with his weapon, and fired a shot inside the restaurant as he fled, witnesses said.

The Spot, which has been a prime spot for regulars and tourists for more than 20 years, had never been robbed, until Feb. 20.

The robber was a black male, who was between 5-feet-5 and 5-feet-7, and weighted between 220 to 240 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie with a black beanie, and a black t-shirt, and green pants, carrying a blue and gray Puma kids backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Galveston Police at 409.765.3778. The Spot is offering a $2,000 reward for the robber’s arrest.
