PORTER, TX -- A Montgomery County man was charged with evading arrest and aggravated assault of a police officer after investigators said he dragged a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden with his ATV. The game warden was trying to arrest him.

When the game warden tried to stop the ATVs, the people refused to stop, leading to a chase into a sand processing facility off Sorters Road, investigators said.
One of the ATVs with three people aboard surrendered, while the driver of the other ATV carrying four people allegedly refused to stop.

The driver of the ATV, identified as 33-year-old David Marshall Joucken, took off, snagging the game warden and dragging him about 20 yards, officials said.
Investigators said in a press release that the game warden fired a single shot while he was being dragged, and managed to get free. The game warden suffered scrapes from being dragged.
Numerous law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and began a search for the ATV that lasted about seven hours.
About 4:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies found the ATV in the woods, and Joucken was hiding nearby.
The other three people who were with Joucken escaped, but are known to local law enforcement officials, investigators said.
Joucken is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
