• Conroe's historic Crighton Theatre to have new seats for the first time since 1979 (houstonchronicle.com) — Downtown Conroe’s historic Crighton Theatre is closed this month as crews replace its worn 1979-era seats, flooring, and carpet in a $300,000 community-backed upgrade. The theater will reopen Feb. 6 with 520 new red velvet-style seats for Stage Right’s “Of Mice and Men,” and residents can still sponsor individual seats at various donation levels.
