- Amina Khan of D Magazine reports that Egyptian American model Cady Elredy, a Dallas native, recently became Texas' first hijabi model. (D Magazine)
- More than 40,000 people have watched a TikTok clip in which a Black family accuses a Dallas restaurant of racism by denying them entry over dress code violations. The video, which was posted six days ago and contains graphic language, was recorded outside Ravenna Italian Grille & Bar. (TikTok)
- The Associated Press reports that an appeals court upheld the murder conviction for former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger, who is serving 10 years in prison in the 2018 fatal shooting of her apartment neighbor, Botham Jean. The case garnered national attention due to its unusual circumstances, and because it was one in a string of shootings of Black men by white police officers. (The Associated Press)
- CultureMap Dallas reports that Country Music superstar couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to shoot for"1883," a prequel series to the popular TV show "Yellowstone." The duo will play James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family. Sam Elliott, known for roles in "A Star Is Born," "Road House" and "The Big Lebowski," will also be in the DFW area shooting for the series. (CultureMap Dallas)
- Mitchell Willets of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that a gas station clerk in Dallas has been arrested and charged with murder after police said he shot at two people who tried to steal four cases of beer from the store. Delon Johnson, 23, followed two shoplifters into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven, confronted them, and started shooting, police said. One of the men died at a hospital. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
