1 Killed, 1 Hurt In Southeast Austin Shooting

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — One man was injured and another killed in a Southeast Austin shooting late Friday.

The incident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. along the 4600 block of Elmont Dr., a police spokesman told reporters in a subsequent news conference. The spokesman said one man was transported to an area hospital in stable condition while another was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's unclear what led to the violence, the police officer told reporters. No further details were disclosed. Police said the incident appears to be an isolated one, the officer said, meaning there is no ongoing threat to the public.
