1st Austin Newborn Of 2021 Born 3 Seconds After Midnight
Paolo Andres Casterlin Escobar was born at Ascension Seton at midnight while Jordan Arvie Jr. arrived 30 minutes later at St. David's.
AUSTIN, TX — The first baby born in Austin this year already has distinguished himself as an over-achiever, coming into the world at just three seconds after midnight at Ascension Seton Medical Center.
Paolo Andres Casterlin Escobar — son of Ivana and Andrew Casterlin — was born just past midnight on the first day of 2021, and weighed in at seven pounds, one ounce at a length of 19.5 inches.
Ascension Seton Medical Center officials provided Patch with photos of the infant, comfortably swaddled in a warm blanket with a tiny knit cap protecting his head. In another photo, the new parents beam with pride as they hold their newborn — the titleholder for first baby born in Austin in 2021.
