2 Killed In Car Wreck Identified: Austin PD
Travyh Lamont Avery, 24, and Olivia Sanders, 22, died after their car hit a guardrail and concrete pillar, while child passenger survived.
AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department on Wednesday identified the driver and passenger killed in a car wreck last weekend from which a child emerged unscathed.
The crash occurred on Friday, July 3, along the 9600 block of East U.S. 290 eastbound just before 6 a.m., police said in an emailed advisory. A passerby alerted police to the wreck involving a 2007 Honda Pilot that hit a guardrail and concrete pillar after the driver lost control, according to police.
Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A child passenger was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police added. The man killed was identified as Travyh Lamont Avery, 24, and the woman who died was identified as Olivia Sanders, 22.

The incident marked Austin’s 41st fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 43 fatalities this year. At this time in 2019, police added, there were 38 traffic fatalities.
