4 Shot At Austin Halloween Party By Man Dressed As Santa: Police

BREAKING: A man who was dressed as Santa Claus allegedly shot four people at the party and was taken into custody, police said.

AUSTIN, TX — Four people were shot at a Halloween party in Central Austin early Sunday morning and police have taken one person into custody in relation to the incident, police said.

Police were called to the 5500 block of Avenue F around 6:12 a.m. to a private residence for a report of a man who was dressed as Santa Claus and had shot multiple victims, Austin Police Detective Lee Knouse told reporters Sunday. While officers were en route to the location, they received information about the suspect at a secondary location where the suspect "was trying to make contact."

Knouse said there was no violence at the second location and the suspect was taken into custody without force or any further incident.
