Adults Explore Nostalgia Of Camping With Elevated Camp Experience
The Contemporary Austin to host its Camp Contemporary benefitting its Education Fund and free art education for Central Texas communities.

AUSTIN, TX — If you've ever been camping, you know the special allure that comes from feeling connected with the natural world around you. Your awareness and appreciation seem heightened when you find yourself surrounded by the bounty of nature. Ask yourself when was the last time you spent a meaningful amount of time outdoors, and like most of us, you're sure to realize it's been too long.
The Contemporary Austin wants to bring the joy and magic of camping to everyone, and will host its Camp Contemporary 2019 benefitting the museum's award-winning education programs on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. You're invited to explore your wild side and enjoy a carefree elevated evening camp designed for adults, with artist-led workshops, live music, late-night festivities, and much more. Laguna Gloria's fourteen acres of lush landscape will be converted to an epic camping site taking you back to those nostalgic nights of stargazing and campfires.
Proceeds of Camp Contemporary go toward the Education Fund to bring free art education to thousands of community members across Central Texas. Also included are K-12 tours, Art School scholarships, and outreach to underserved youth in our communities.
