Annual Festival Celebrates Storied History Of 6th St.
The 39th Annual Pecan Street Festival Scheduled Sept. 21 & Sept. 22 will feature live music, food vendors, artists, and fun for the kids.

AUSTIN, TX — Now in its 39th year, the Annual Pecan Street Festival kicks off this weekend.
Thee event will be staged on Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22, beginning at 11 a.m. on 6th Street in downtown Austin. The quintessentially Austin event along the popular entertainment corridor will feature hundreds of artists, food vendors and live entertainment. For the kiddos, the festival will offer myriad activities that include rides, a petting zoo, face-painting, interactive workshops, street magicians and more.
The popular annual festival is free and open to the public in celebration of the storied history of 6th Street — once named Pecan Street — where many of the historical houses and commercial buildings date to the late 19th century and early part of the last one line the edges of the activity-filled artery.

As in previous years, this year's event promises to delight crowds of all ages. Music lineup will include performances by Lee Young, Tortuga Shades, Canned Beets, Silent Disco, Fifth Of A Fifth, and many, many more.
