AUSTIN, TX — Arch Manning announced his commitment to play football at the University of Texas in a tweet Thursday.

Manning, nephew of former NFL quarterback and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, is the top-rated high school football player in the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings. He plays quarterback at Isidore Newman in New Orleans.

Manning's commitment comes nearly a week after he took an official visit to Texas. He also took official visits at the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama.
