ATX COVID-19 Exchange Matches Solutions To Critical Needs
The UT Austin Dell Medical School launched a portal for community needs to be submitted and creative solutions are offered.
AUSTIN, TX — Amid the current public health crisis, The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School recently launched a project creating a community platform to offer solutions to COVID-19 needs. ATX COVID-19 Exchange is a collaboration of experts, innovators, and leaders working to connect with the community and offer creative ways to identify critical needs within the Austin area.
The platform works by inviting the community to submit a need; the team at the medical school then vets the need and the community responds with creative solutions. Individuals may respond to specific requests, or if a community member has an idea or materials to offer, they are invited to submit a solution on the platform.
ATX COVID-19 Exchange invites individuals that form part of a clinical, public health, or community-based organization with an unmet need to submit your need, and receive followup from the exchange team. For those looking to help during coronavirus, the community is invited to offer solutions addressing the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), donate raw materials, or offer space, tools, or expertise to create much needed supplies. Some of the solutions found so far include:
