Austin-Based Rooster Teeth Raising Funds For Children's Charities

Fresh off its successful, three-day run of RTX 2018, the media/entertainment company launches effort that is far from virtual.

AUSTIN, TX — Fresh off its successful, three-day RTX 2018 convention celebrating the vibrant, virtual world between gaming and the Internet peopled by legions, Austin-based Rooster Teeth has delved back into the real world with philanthropic pursuits.

To date, the locally based media and entertainment company has raised more than $3 million for Extra Life, with plans this year to add to that amount during a 24-hour stream kicking off Nov. 10. Officials made the announcement on Monday following its convention at the Austin Convention Center that lured thousands of participants.

The company's fundraising efforts have supported Dell Children's Hospital's Mental Health Unit, opening the "Rooster Teeth Healing Garden" at the facility earlier this year. Coinciding with Klippel-Feil Awareness Day, Rooster Teeth on Monday released a video of Achievement Hunter member Kent Cook getting a tattoo to raise awareness for his son who has the rare disease.
