Austin Chamber Of Commerce Webinars Help Employers, Job Seekers

AUSTIN, TX —Several weeks into the COVID-19 public health crisis, the impact of the pandemic is being seen across industries and affecting businesses and workers on a global scale. The fallout from coronavirus on a more local level is translated to unemployment claims jumping to a staggering 860% in a single week. With mandatory shelter in place orders across the state, Texas businesses deemed non-essential have forced lay offs or furloughs to try to survive.

While essential industries continue to operate, and even look to the workforce pool to fill in-demand jobs, those who have become unemployed due to effects of COVID-19 are only beginning to brace themselves for a more immediate and uncertain future. In an effort to help those affected by COVID-19 become proactive in light of these challenging times, the Austin Chamber of Commerce will host a series of webinars for employers and job seekers to help navigate the jobs outlook in Austin and surrounding areas.

The PowerUp Webinars throughout April will focus on topics and discussions related to the impact of COVID-19. These will be interactive sessions and participants are invited to submit questions ahead of the Zoom meeting. For more click HERE.
