Austin Chamber Offers FAQ Guide for Paycheck Protection Program
The Austin Chamber of Commerce website features a FAQ resource guide for small businesses to help navigate the federal assistance program.
AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Chamber of Commerce, whose mission as a membership organization is to help create jobs to ensure people can find work, provide for their families and achieve prosperity, has launched a resource guide for small businesses affected by the coronavirus, or COVID-19 pandemic.
The Austin Chamber has begun offering a helpful resource guide for frequently asked questionsfor small businesses and how these may access the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a recently unveiled federal program providing small businesses with funds to pay up to 8 weeks of payroll costs including benefits. Funds may also be accessed to pay interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities and is available for any small business with 500 or fewer employees.
In an effort to help small business owners protect their economic future and the future of those they employ, the Austin Chamber offers clear and in-depth answers to most frequently asked questions surrounding PPP including eligibility and application deadlines. "While the economy will certainly feel the effects of this crisis, it is too soon to know exactly how severe that impact will be," said 2020 Board Chair, Craig Enoch. "Until then, the Chamber is prepared and dedicated to providing resources for businesses."
