Austin Civic Orchestra Hosts Christmas Classics Holiday Concert
ACO brings high quality music to the community and this season offers a concert with accomplished artists performing holiday favorites.
AUSTIN, TX — Just in time for the holidays, the Austin Civic Orchestra invites the community to an evening celebrating the sounds of the season with its ACO Holiday Concert with special guest violinist Jessica Mathaes performing Vivaldi's "Winter" from The Four Seasons. The concert will feature an array of holiday classics such as Handel's Messiah and selected dance performances from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Ballet.
ACO is non-profit civic organization dedicated to bringing high quality music to the community, and providing a musical outlet for professional and non-professional musicians alike. ACO performs concerts each season at various locations throughout the Austin community in relaxed and affordable settings. Attendees to the ACO Holiday Concert will enjoy a program including:
- The Nutcracker Suite by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
- Selections from Messiah by George Frideric Handel
- Winter from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi
- Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson
- Chanukah Festival Overture by Calvin Custer
- A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane
- The Christmas Song by Mel Torme and Robert Wells
- Oboe Concerto, Movement I by Ignaz Malzat/Joseph Haydn
