Austin Couple Offers $1K For Safe Return Of Stolen Shih Tzu
In an impassioned plea on Facebook, Gilbert Garza provides surveillance camera footage of suspect hoping for return of 'our child.'

SAN ANTONIO — An Austin couple who were visiting San Antonio this week had their dog stolen from their downtown hotel room, and are refusing to leave until the animal is returned.
Gilbert Garza and his partner, Scott, visited the Alamo City to enjoy the holiday lights along the Riverwalk, taking along their treasured Shih Tzu with them. At one point in their trip, Garza explained on Facebook, he and his partner went to a club called Pegasus where they met people they invited back to their room.
At one point, one of the guests took the dog outside. It was the last time the two tourists saw their beloved pet.

"We travel everywhere with our kid who so happens to be our Shih Tzu," Garza wrote. "His name is Banker. He is gray in color, 3 years old and very well trained. He sleeps with us every night and we keep him on a strict diet. We walk with him everyday and he has loved and depended on us since he was 7 weeks old. He is our child and he was stolen from our hotel room."
The pair were staying at the Sheraton Gunter hotel downtown when their pet was stolen, Garza wrote, providing a description and surveillance camera footage as part of his post.

"We just want our baby back," Garza wrote. "I feel like my heart is missing. He is very attached to us just like a kid would be. My heart is so broken."
A $1,000 reward is being offered for the dog's return. Anyone with information is urged to call Garza at (832)606-2658.
