Austin Empty Bowl Project 2020 Goes Virtual

The annual event led by Austin-area potters works to raise funds in an effort to fight hunger in the community.

AUSTIN, TX—Amid an especially challenging year for countless Austin-area residents, the Austin Empty Bowl Project invites the community to participate in the effort by local potters to fight hunger. The annual family-friendly event raises proceeds to benefit Kids Cafe, a program of the Central Texas Food Bank, and Meals for Kids, a programs of Meals on Wheels Central Texas.

Held each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, the Austin Empty Bowl Project will be virtual in 2020. Beginning on Sunday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 22, participants can check out the project's online store, virtual silent auction, and live virtual concert.

The virtual concert scheduled Nov. 20 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. will feature livestream Zoom performances by Betty Soo, Terri Hendrix & Lloyed Maines, Jeff Plankenhorn, Carolyn Wonderland & Shelley King, Susan Gibson, Ordinary Elephant, Jaimee Harris, and Bonnie Whitmore.
