Austin Fireworks Show Celebrates Dia de los Muertos

Planet K presents its annual fireworks extravaganza to celebrate the Day of the Dead Mexican holiday with an all out jubilee.

AUSTIN, TX — Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and by those of Mexican heritage, as a way to remember the dead and honor their memories through stories, food, singing and dancing. The occasion is marked by festivities and a lively jubilee where death is looked upon as a natural extension of life, and not to be viewed in a macabre way.

As an important and emblematic tradition of the Mexican culture, it's only fitting that it be celebrated in a big way. The 2019 Texas Fireworks Dia de los Muertos Celebration presented by Planet K, kicks off Dia de los Muertos with a spectacular display of pyrotechnics on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 9:30 p.m. at east of Pleasant Valley Rd., behind Krieg Field.

Each year, the fireworks event celebrating Dia de los Muertos increases in popularity and attendance, and thousands are expected to gather and take in the sights and experience the strong sense of community. Attendees will enjoy face painting, live art exhibits, a memorial balloon release, vendor booths, community/charity booths, plenty of events for kids, a vintage car parade and amazing food trucks. All this promises to culminate into one of the largest fireworks shows in Texas. For more click HERE.
