CapMetro and Good Apple have launched a food delivery program to deliver healthy foods to populations most vulnerable to coronavirus.
AUSTIN, TX — In an effort to help minimize the risk of exposure to coronavirus, or COVID-19 for individuals age 55 or over, or those with compromised immune systems, CapMetro and local produce company Good Apple has launched a food delivery program to deliver fresh, healthy produce to the community.
The program is designed to keep vulnerable populations at home, and have access to healthy food choices. The CapMetro MetroAccess team and Good Apple have partnered to deliver a week's worth of fresh produce and non-perishable items to certain households. To be eligible to receive the service, you must be age 55 or older or be immunocompromised. Deliveries will be offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday deliveries will be offered from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
There will be 240 deliveries per day with an initial allotment of 2,000 meals, and each household to receive deliveries proportional to number of residents. To learn more, or apply for delivery visit Good Apple's application page HERE or call (737) 228-3558.
