Austin Free-Net Ramps Up Community Relief Efforts

AUSTIN, TX —Austin Free-Net and Ruckify have ramped up community relief efforts and are providing assistance to Austin area children struggling to complete virtual learning requirements due to a lack of proper technology. Austin Free-Net assists undeserved, low income communities gain access to free public computers and computer training and provide the technology tools needed to thrive in the digital age. As the world's largest peer-to-peer rental marketplace, Ruckify offers the opportunity for individuals and companies to rent their items out at a low cost to local communities.

A recent device drive hosted by Austin Free-Net and in partnership with Austin ISD, AISD parents, Austin Public and Ruckify collected nearly 200 PC workstations to students and families in need in Austin, but more help is needed. The community is invited to lend their unused or spare technological devices through Ruckify to help children continue to learn and complete their school work amid the coronavirus pandemic. Items of urgent need include:
