Here are the top stories today in Austin:
- US Rep. Lloyd Doggett is eyeing a run in the new Congressional District 37 in Austin. The district, which reportedly was drawn to favor Democrats, is one of two created based on recent Census data. (KVUE.com)
- A recent report illustrates Austin's housing shortage. Homes are selling at a record pace while the city's supply struggles to keep up with demand. (Austin Patch)
- State and local early voting began on Monday. On the ballot are two city-wide propositions, one aimed at increasing the Austin police budget and the other at swapping park land. There's also eight statewide propositions, including a ban on the adoption of restrictions to religious services. (newsradioklbj.com)
- Members of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce are considering their options to meet the city's growing traffic and congestion. They are considering the "cap and stitch" overhaul plan for I-35, which would widen the interstate's overpass and create new green space in the process. (KVUE.com)
