Austin Humane Society Offers Online Creative Content For Kids

Children ages 8 and younger are invited to enjoy the Humane Hero Hour each Friday through Aug. 7 for fun online animal-themed activities.

AUSTIN, TX —As the pandemic continues to impact our community, Austin-area organizations have had to modify their operating schedules to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and patrons. The Austin Humane Society, for its part, has found creative ways to keep the community engaged, while preserving its commitment to offering programs and services to care for area animals.

Each Friday through August 7, families will have the opportunity to enjoy creativity and learn about animals with the Humane Hero Hour from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. For the fun, hour-long event, the Austin Humane Society partnered with Austin Wildlife Rescue, Austin Creative Reuse, Kathy Phan, TruFusion, and Generation Serve to offer a host of virtual activities to keep the community connected. Humane Hero Hour is recommended for children age 8 and younger, and is a great way to enjoy creativity centered on fun animal-themed art.
