Missing Elderly Woman Found Safe In Austin

Francisca Chapa-Cervantes had last been seen at her apartment on 2422 Western Trails Blvd. Friday at around 12:30 p.m.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Saturday asked for help from the public in locating a missing elderly woman on the southwest portion of the city.

Francisca Chapa-Cervantes, 91, was last seen at her Western Trails Apartments home on 2422 Western Trails Blvd. on Friday at around 12:30 p.m., police said in an emailed advisory. In addition to her advance age, mental and medical conditions heighten concern for her safety, police said.

Police described the missing woman as Hispanic, five feet, three inches in height, 90 pounds, short gray hair and brown eyes. Police said its unclear what she was last seen wearing, but she has a cast with a blue sling on her right arm. Her walking cane is also reportedly missing from her apartment, police noted.

Police released images of the missing woman in the hopes someone might recognize her and alert police as to her whereabouts.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
