AUSTIN, TX -- The Austin Police Department (APD) announced plans to conduct its No Refusal initiative in anticipation of the New Year's holiday in effect December 29, 2018 through December 31, 2018 from 9 PM to 5 AM each day. In an effort to promote public safety and enforcement of DWI laws, APD is focused on preventing loss of life to those on the city's roads, highways, and waterways. The No Refusal initiative grants jurisdiction to law enforcement to apply for blood search warrants on suspects who refuse breath testing as required by law.
