Austin Residents Invited To Help Address Food Insecurity

SFC Local was given a matching grant by Tito's Handmade Vodka to tackle food insecurity in Austin, and assist those struggling in 2020.

AUSTIN, TX—Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and the economic downturn to industries across Austin and its surrounding communities, 2020 has been an especially challenging year. Food insecurity has reached record-levels for families in Austin and nationwide, and contributions from community members have made a significant impact in the lives of many.

Sustainable Food Center (SFC Local) ensures that healthy, local food is delivered to those who need it most. SFC Local invites the community to donate this year's end and have gifts matched through midnight on Dec. 31. Through Tito's Handmade Vodka generous $25,000 matching grant, donations will be doubled and more nourishment will reach struggling individuals and families.
