Austin To Ring In New Year With Annual Fireworks Spectacle

The City of Austin once again hosts a New Year's Eve celebration featuring live music and the city's largest fireworks display.

AUSTIN, TX — To celebrate the arrival of 2020, the City of Austin will once again host its spectacular Austin's New Year's festivities and fireworks show.

The celestial spectacle scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 31, beginning at 7:30 p.m. This safe, family-friendly event is a great opportunity to ring in the New Year alongside friends and neighbors, as you enjoy an evening of great live music and one of the city's biggest fireworks displays.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, and are reminded the celebration is an alcohol-free event. Would-be attendees with fur babies should have them on a leash while on the grounds.

The festivities will take place at Vic Mathias Shores At Lady Bird Lake Metro Park, 900 W. Riverside Dr., in South Austin. Cap Metro will offer free rides on buses and the Metro Rail on New Year's Eve after 6 p.m.
