Austin Sex Offender Map Shows Homes To Avoid Halloween 2018

There are several dozen registered sex offenders living and working in the city, according to Texas Department of Public Safety registry.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Before children go out trick-or-treating on Halloween, it's a good idea for parents to take inventory of who is living in the neighborhood. Austin has several dozen sex offenders living and/or working in town, according to the state sex offender registry.

A map of offenders can be found below. The blue pins represent sex offender addresses, and tapping each pin will reveal the sex offender's name. More amplified information on sex offenders can be found at the Texas Department of Public Safety website.

Law enforcement officials stress it's illegal to use sex offender registration information to commit a crime, such as harassing an offender or vandalizing that person's home. The map is meant only to offer a guide as kids navigate the neighborhood in search of candy, knowing what homes to avoid.
