Austin Star Student 'Loves To Help Others': Meet Savannah

Austin, TX — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

She has been dealing with an overwhelming amount of anxiety and absences due to being sick, but has managed to keep her grades up. She's planning ahead for college, getting her associates degree at ACC and eventually wants to open her own business with a food truck or bakery of some sorts. She has played basketball since 8th grade and has been pushing her mind and body in hopes of making the varsity team for her senior year. Her grades have been steady and she loves to help others. When we are out walking or going out for a meal, she has to stop and pet every dog we see. She loves animals and being outdoors. Savannah also helps her family with their local business in her free time. She's already started her own business selling snacks and running her own concession stand at local events to help her family in any way. There's always more, but I appreciate your time reading what I've put here for now.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She plans to attend ACC and does not want to take a year off after high school.
