Urban Roots Farm invites the community to visit the East Austin farm and sign up to volunteer and help feed Austin's hungry.

AUSTIN, TX — Using food and farming, Urban Roots Farm transforms the lives of young people ands inspires, engages and nourishes the community. Located on a 3.5 acre farm located in East Austin, Urban Roots offers paid internship opportunities to young people ages 14 to 23, and alongside more than 1,500 volunteers, grows over 25,000 pounds of fresh produce each year. 40% of the food grown is donated to the Austin community with hunger relief partners.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26 Urban Roots invite you to a unique volunteer experience and learn about the ways Urban Roots impacts the community, and learn about sustainable local urban farming. Young leaders will be on-site to teach volunteer everything they've learned through the completion of any of the Urban Roots youth programs. The farm is in need of volunteers to plant, cultivate and harvest fruits and vegetables.

Volunteering gives you a chance to step away from your daily life to enjoy the sun, get a bit muddy, and support a great cause. Please note, each volunteer must be registered ahead of arriving to Urban Roots. Minors must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. To register click HERE.
