Bluegrass And Beer Brings Together Advocates For Clean Waterways
Informational program discusses sewage pollution and the threat to waterways across the Hill Country, as guests enjoy live music and more.
AUSTIN, TX — The Save Barton Creek Association and The Texas Brewshed Alliance will host Bluegrass and Beer, an informational program which aims to shine a spotlight on sewage pollution problems and ways to get involved and create solutions for a less polluted future. Through the No Dumping Sewage Campaign, a collective of non-profit organizations and citizens organize to promote education about problems associated with direct discharge and benefits of more sustainable alternatives.
The Bluegrass and Beer offers a fun and creative way to reach wider audiences to explore ways to protect Central Texas creeks. The event kicks off at Friday, Oct. 11 beginning at 6 p.m. and there will be food and beer available for purchase throughout the evening, as well as live bluegrass music by talented performers. All pours of Petit Prince beer at the event will benefit Save Barton Creek Association’s (SBCA) efforts against sewage pollution.
A GoFundMe page has also been created and donations are accepted and appreciated. More than $2,000 has been raised toward the $7,000 goal (with an $7,000 match from Patagonia) to keep sewage out of Barton Creek. For more information on the campaign and other organizations advocating for improved wastewater management, please visit the No Dumping Sewage Campaign petition.
