Body Found Near UT-Austin Not Suspicious: Austin Police
The death of a 28-year-old man at the Skyloft Apartments, located at 507 W. 23rd St., has been deemed 'not suspicious,' police said.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday continued investigating a death in North Austin — just west of the University of Texas at Austin campus — that occurred on Thursday, but stressed it was not suspicious.
The death was reported last week at 507 W. 23rd St., police said in an advisory, adding the body was examined by the medical examiner, and no suspicious injuries were found.
"Our homicide unit is continuing to receive inquiries from area residents about the July 15, 2020 call of a deceased person at 507 W. 23rd (case 20-1971470)," police wrote. "We want to reiterate, in case you are also being contacted, that this death is not a homicide."

The Austin Police Department originally alerted their UT-Austin counterparts during the early morning hours of July 16 after finding the body of a 28-year-old man inside a unit at the Skyloft Apartments, according to reports. Police were conducting a welfare check when they discovered the body, officials said.
The official cause of death is pending toxicology, police wrote.
