AUSTIN, TX — Inclement weather on Sunday capped off by a rare snowstorm across Central Texas has prompted several area school districts to cancel in-person classes on Monday.

Amid freezing temperatures and up to six inches of snow in some regions, multiple school districts opted to cancel classes outright for the following day. The wintry mix yielded hazardous road conditions amid a winter blast expected to continue into Monday.

As a result, the Leander, Pflugerville and Round Rock school districts have canceled classes on Monday.
