City Of Austin: Chief's Run Showcases Future Officers

The run will proceed from the Statesman parking lot, north on Congress Ave and end at the State Capitol.

On Tuesday, January 25, 2022 the 144th Cadet Class of the Austin Police Department (APD) will participate in the traditional Chief’s Run.

Chief of Police Joseph Chacon, along with APD’s Assistant Chiefs, will join the 66 cadets on a run that will begin at 7 a.m. at the Austin-American Statesman Parking Lot and end at the State Capitol Peace Officers Memorial. The traditional Chief’s Run focuses on unity within the community and department along with an address to the cadets by Chief Chacon.

The run will proceed from the Statesman parking lot, north on Congress Ave and end at the State Capitol.

The cadets will be commissioned during graduation ceremonies on Friday, January 28. There will be more details about graduation in a separate press release this week.
