UPDATED: The Domain To Close Through March 29

The Simon Property Group multi-phased venue to close all properties across the US including The Domain to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Editor's Note via Simon Property Group Press Release: Simon, announced that after extensive discussions with federal, state and local officials and in recognition of the need to address the spread of COVID-19, Simon will close all of its retail properties, including Malls, Premium Outlets and Mills in the U.S. This measure will take effect from 7 pm local time today and will end on March 29.

AUSTIN, TX — The Domain, Austin's multi-phased development featuring retail, hotels and restaurants, has issued an update for shoppers via its website explaining the safeguards in place to help mitigate the risk of spreading the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. In light of latest developments related to COVID-19, the Simon Property Group property began implementing an enhanced and comprehensive cleaning program, including regular deep cleaning with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approved disinfectants with increased frequency.

The Domain is employing increased cleaning crews working tirelessly to ensure hygiene standards set by the CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) are met and exceeded. Increased cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing are occurring throughout the day, and include special attention to common areas within the property, and a focus on highly trafficked locations, including mall entrances, restrooms, seating areas, play areas, dining areas, guest services, strollers, trash cans, door handles/knobs, drinking fountains, charging stations, and mall offices.

Crews are also on-site during non-operating hours to offer disinfecting and sanitizing services to prepare for next day business. The Domain has also posted signage throughout the venue advising shoppers who may feel sick to remain home, as well as CDC-recommended safety precautions to ensure health and well-being. These include frequent hand washing, avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, regular hand sanitizing with stations provided throughout the property.

Visitors are urged to heed guidelines provided by the WHO and the CDC. Mall management will continue to monitor local, state and federal advisories and will update The Domain webpage as information is made available. The Domain hours have been modified until further notice and are as follows:

Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m

Sunday 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.
