Driver Killed After Striking Tree In North Austin
The incident occurred along the 2400 block of Scofield Ridge Parkway last Tuesday when the driver left the roadway for an unknown reason.
AUSTIN, TX — The driver who died after crashing into a tree in North Austin last Tuesday.
The incident occurred along the 2400 block of Scofield Ridge Parkway at around 12:40 p.m., according to a police advisory. The driver of a silver, 2015 Ford Taurus traveling eastbound let the roadway for an unknown reason before striking a tree, police wrote.
Police said the driver, 34-year-old Mona Monique Ramon, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

This was Austin’s 85th fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 91 fatalities. At the time in 2019, police added, there were 87 traffic fatalities.
