Elisabet Ney's Nature Day Features Giveaways, Hands-On Activities
Nature Day promises to delight visitors of all ages with an afternoon of education, hands-on projects, giveaways, and more.
AUSTIN, TX —The Elisabet Ney Museum, offering a range of educational programs, exhibits, special events, workshops and lectures throughout the year, invite the community to a celebration of nature on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Elisabet Ney's Nature Day will offer a sapling giveaway courtesy of TreeFolks, as well as an afternoon of new art/nature hands-on projects, interactive demonstrations, and much more.
This FREE event is open to the public and all ages are welcome to enjoy the fun-filled and educational afternoon. Visitors will learn about urban owls at a discussion beginning at 2 p.m., and there will be opportunities to discover local environmental outreach programs, wildlife rescue, and science education. Artist Barbara Attwell will be on hand to discuss her work on display, the exhibition "Rewylding".
The event participants include: Texas Beeworks, Texas Blue Jay Project, TreeFolks, Austin Watershed, Austin Bat Refuge, Travis Audubon, Capital Area Master Naturalists, Austin Butterfly Forum, Barbara Attwell, Cities Connecting Children to Nature, Calder Kamin and more. For more details click HERE.
