Exhibits Celebrate Asian American Artists' Culture And Identity
AARC hosts its Fall Into Art: Opening Reception Oct. 4 and showcases artwork representative of the city's dynamic Asian American culture.
AUSTIN, TX — To celebrate Austin's cultural diversity, the City of Austin invites the community to Fall Into Art: Opening Receptions at the Asian American Resource Center (AARC) being held Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. located at 8401 Cameron Rd, Austin, TX 78754.
AARC hosts its Community Art Exhibit Program as an opportunity to recognize the cultural heritage, history and identity of Asian American Pacific Islanders through creative expression. Two individual and two group exhibitions representative of the community are showcased on a quarterly schedule with each artist expressing creativity using various mediums including oil paintings, ceramics, and found objects.
The opening reception taking place Friday, Oct. 4 is free and open to the public and exhibits will feature Colours of Life: An Indian Perspective (Shruti Mehta); Pink Lotus (Marcela Kourkova); Everything That Matters (Monica Mohnot, Neelu Amar, Shikha Joshi, Meena Matocha, Meena Matai).
