Happy Hour Invites Business Professionals, Musicians To Network

Executive Happy Hour is an event that brings together Austin musicians with local business owners to forge mentorship relationships.

AUSTIN, TX — As most people know, Austin is a mecca for creativity and talent. As the "Live Music Capital of the World", the city has garnered a reputation for attracting some of the most prolific musical talents from across the globe. Beyond the glitz and glamour of making it in Austin, however, musicians make significantly less money than the rest of Austin.

According to the City of Austin Music Commission, the average professional musician in Austin earns less than $14,000 per year, and Austin loses a venue on average each month. Longtime Austin music legends are moving away due to the low wages, and Austin's high cost of living.

The Sterling Event Center and the Austin Musicians Business Mentorship Fund (AMBM) will host its Austin Executive Happy Hour, an opportunity for business people and professional musicians to come other to forge mentorship relationships through networking. The fund hosts a series of business social events each year, featuring Austin's preeminent blues and jazz musicians in a special showcase. The upcoming Happy Hour is a great event for business owners, business development officers, professional musicians, and any one looking to expand their professional network and who cares about Austin's music community.
