Harmony Science Academy Offering Meal Pick Up For Children
The charter school offers free lunch and breakfast pick up for every child under the age of 18 regardless of school enrollment status.
AUSTIN, TX — They say in the midst of challenge, you see the true nature of people emerge, and in Austin there's no shortage of kindness among the community. As the city enters another week into the Stay Home, Work Safe Order requiring residents to stay at home, except for essential activities and essential businesses, to prevent further spread of COVID-19, many families struggle to find certainty amid the current public health crisis.
You're likely to see a common trend happening within the community, where more neighbors begin extending a helping hand to one another in hopes of easing the stress and anxieties surrounding coronavirus. As the COVID-19 crisis continues impacting the community, Harmony Science Academy Austin and HPS Austin will work to ensure children continue to receive nourishment to stay healthy.
Beginning the week of Monday, March 30 there will be free lunch and breakfast pickup each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for every child under the age of 18 regardless of school enrollment status. Families may pick up a sack meal for that and the next consecutive day. For example, Monday pick up meals will include nourishment for Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday pick up meals will include nourishment for Wednesday and Thursday; Friday pick up meals will include nourishment for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
