Holiday Window Walk Showcases The Spirit Of The Season

2nd St. District's annual December in the District features delightful seasonal window displays, and helps to support small businesses.

AUSTIN, TX—If you're looking for an opportunity to get into the spirit of the season, 2nd Street District invites you to celebrate its Annual December in the District. The monthlong event welcomes back the tenth annual Holiday Window Walk and introduces a new holiday passport activation in partnership with the Downtown Austin Alliance.

The holiday event will kick off Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 8 a.m. and run through Thursday, Dec. 31 at 11 p.m. and is designed to help support local businesses this gift-giving season. 2nd Street District businesses transform into decorative holiday scenes during the Holiday Window Walk, giving guests a delightful experience to create memories.

This year Holiday Window Walk has partnered with St. Edwards University students to showcase their imaginations and flaunt their design skills for an opportunity at $6,500 worth of scholarships on behalf of the 2nd Street District. All installations may be viewed from the sidewalk, with guests able to stroll at a leisurely pace while observing social distancing.

Beginning Dec. 1, you'll be able to vote for the most festive window on Facebook for a chance to win a $250 Visa gift card for your holiday shopping. Those interested in picking up the Holiday Passport can do so by visiting DowntownHolidayStroll.com or pick one up from participating businesses then collect "stamps" as you explore all that 2ND District offers, and gain access to winning fun prizes for supporting Austin small businesses. This year, the grand prize is a New Year’s Eve Downtown Austin Staycation, which includes a two-nights stay at W Austin, spa treatments from AWAY Spa, a gift certificate to dine at TRACE, and a backstage tour of ACL Live.
