How To Catch A FREE Ride Home This New Year's

AUSTIN, TX -- Several Austin businesses and agencies will offer free rides to keep drivers safe this New Year's Eve. According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), the 2017 holiday season saw 2,469 alcohol-related crashes in Texas, resulting in the deaths of 96 people and seriously injury to another 202. TXDOT urges drivers to drink responsibly and plan ahead this holiday season. For a list of statewide services offered to drivers celebrating the New Year, please visit the TXDOT website.

The following is a list of FREE ride services offered in Austin this New Years:

• Capital Metro: FREE Rides on December 31st beginning at 5 PM and running until the end of service. MetroRail - Extended service until 2:30 a.m. MetroRapid - Special Late-Night service until 2:30 a.m. MetroBus - Regular weekday service schedule. Visit CapMetro.org to plan your route.
• Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers: Daniel Stark Law Firm is offering to help keep those on the road safe with their FREE Designated Driver service program. Fill out a registration form to receive a $25 Uber ride. Code may be redeemed on the Uber app. To register, click here.
• AAA Texas Tipsy Tow: AAA Texas will offer Tipsy Tow services for drivers with no membership required. Service available for up to 2 passengers with a free tow home up to 10 miles. Service runs from 6 PM on Monday, Dec. 31 through 6 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Call 1-800-222-4357 to schedule a tow and for additional details.
