Hundred For Hospitality Looks To Lend A Hand Amid Coronavirus

The GoFundMe fundraiser hopes to serve 100 meals per day to hospitality workers who are temporarily jobless or in need of a meal.

AUSTIN, TX —The COVID-19 pandemic has created chaos for communities across the globe. The hospitality industry has been among the hardest hit with layoffs in the thousands and local companies being forced to temporarily close their doors. To help ease some of the uncertainty caused by coronavirus, a GoFundMe has been created for the over 2,000 service industry workers who now face job loss as a reality. Hundred for Hospitality seeks to serve 100 meals per day to hospitality workers who are temporarily jobless or in need of a meal.

Austin restaurants P. Terry's, Austin's Pizza, Old Thousand, Peached Tortilla, Chi'Lantro, MezzeMe, Burro Cheese Kitchen, and others have volunteered to help feed 100 meals to service industry workers. All proceeds raised help provide stipends for food, labor, and supplies to the restaurants who have volunteered to help. More funds raised equate to more individuals being fed over a longer period.

If you'd like to help Hundred for Hospitality and their efforts to help feed out-of-work service industry employees, you can make an individual donation to the Hundred for Hospitality GoFundMe page to contribute toward restaurant stipends to prepare food. If you're a restaurant and would like to donate food, email chelsea@365thingsaustin.com. Or if you're a company interested in sponsoring a day of meals, email jane@atasteofkoko.com.
