Interstate 35 Lane Closures Aug. 1-7, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of Interstate 35 lane closures. Savvy drivers consult the list before their travels in order to avoid potential traffic congestion, ensuring smooth travel.

The latest list is for Aug. 1-7.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit
  • Through early 2021

RM 620 ROUNDABOUT (I-35 TO DEEP WOOD DRIVE)

• Westbound RM 620 reduced to one lane nightly from Briarwood Street to Lake Creek Drive
  • Monday, Aug. 3, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH 45 NORTH

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Grand Avenue Parkway to SH 45 North
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through September
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183. The US 183 exit (#240) will also be closed.
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Eastbound and westbound St. Johns Avenue closed nightly at the I-35 frontage road
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from Norwood Park Boulevard to I-35
  • Sunday, Aug. 2, through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Monday, Aug. 3, through Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Boggy Creek Drive to Stassney Lane
  • Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Stassney Lane to the William Cannon Drive
  • Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Eastbound William Cannon Drive right turn lane closed at the southbound I-35 frontage road
  • Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35

• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit (#200) are closed

• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed permanently at Centerpoint Road
  • Until further notice
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Centerpoint Road to Heldenfels Concrete

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard
  • Sunday, Aug. 2 through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from 7th Street to 4th Street. The 6th Street entrance ramp will also be closed.
  • Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed from SH 123 to Sherbard Street
  • Thursday, Aug. 6, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed from Centerpoint Road to McCarty Lane
  • Monday, Aug. 3 through Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
