Interstate 35 Lane Closures For Feb. 13-19, 2021

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has issued its weekly list of planned closures along Interstate 35, yielding a helpful drivers' guide. By consulting the list, motorists are able to negoatiate around areas of potential traffic congestion by finding alternative routes.

The latest list comes amid a big freeze engulfing the region that has made travel treacherous given the presence of ice on roads. Drivers should be aware there may be other streets intermittently closing that may not be listed here as street crews assess roads throughout the winter blast.

Given the fluid nature of closures amid the winter blast, motorists are urged to check DriveTexas.org for real-time road conditions. This week's list from the Texas Department of Transportation covers the period between Feb. 13-19.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 3406 to the RM 1431 exit (#256)
  • Through early 2021

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

• Northbound I-35 bypass lane closed at Parmer Lane
  • Through early 2021

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound to northbound I-35 U-turn closed continuously at US 183
  • Through Friday, Feb. 19
• Northbound to southbound I-35 U-turn closed continuously at Rundberg Lane
  • Through October 2021

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Teri Road to St. Elmo Road
  • Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Slaughter Lane to William Cannon Drive
  • Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Chaparral Road to Boggy Creek Drive. The Onion Creek Parkway exit (#225) will also be closed.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed from SH 71/Ben White Boulevard to Stassney Lane
  • Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Stassney Lane to SH 71/Ben White Boulevard
  • Thursday, Feb. 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed from Chaparral Road to Slaughter Lane
  • Thursday, Feb. 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from FM 1626 to Kyle Crossing
  • Through late 2021

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) closed
  • Until further notice

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound and southbound I-35 rolling closures nightly from Williams Drive to SH 130 for LCRA transmission line installation
  • Through Sunday, Feb. 28 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
