Interstate 35 Lane Closures Jan. 23-29, 2021

AUSTIN, TX — With clockwork precision, the Texas Department of Transportation has released its weekly list of lane closures. Savvy drivers check the list before traveling, yielding an ability to deftly avoid points along the highway with potential traffic congestion.

The latest list covers the period from Jan. 23-29.

I-35 AT WILLIAMS DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed at Williams Drive
  • Sunday, Jan. 24 through Monday, Jan. 25 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit (#256)
  • Through early 2021

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH 45 NORTH

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Wells Branch Parkway to SH 45 North. Multiple entrance and exit ramps will close as needed.
  • Sunday, Jan. 24 through Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

• Northbound I-35 bypass lane closed at Parmer Lane
  • Through early 2021
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Parmer Lane
  • Monday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Parmer Lane
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right-turn lane closed daily at Parmer Lane
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Westbound Parmer Lane right lane closed at I-35
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound US 183 frontage road reduced to one lane from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through February 2021
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed from US 183 to the Rundberg Lane exit (#241)

• Northbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Norwood Park Boulevard

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from St. Johns Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Monday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound to northbound I-35 U-turn closed daily at US 183
  • Monday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound to northbound I-35 U-turn closed daily at US 290 East
  • Monday, Jan. 25 through Friday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from US 183 to Norwood Park Boulevard. The southbound to northbound I-35 U-turn at US 183 will also be closed.
  • Monday, Jan. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 28 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover closed continuously

• Northbound I-35 left lane closed at William Cannon Drive
  • Sunday, Jan. 24 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Nelms Drive to Stassney Lane. The northbound to southbound I-35 U-turn at Stassney Lane will also be closed.
  • Monday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed at Stassney Lane

• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from FM 150 to Brent Boulevard

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) closed

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Northbound and southbound I-35 rolling closures nightly from Williams Drive to SH 130 for LCRA transmission line installation
  • Through Sunday, Feb. 28 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed from the Louis Henna Boulevard exit (#250) to the Hesters Crossing exit (#251). The Hesters Crossing exit (#251) will also be closed.
