Interstate 35 Lane Closures July 11-17, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has issued its weekly list of lane closures along Interstate 35. What does that mean for drivers? The compilation serves as a useful driving guide for savvy motorists who consult it before embarking on their travels to avoid potential traffic congestion.

The latest list is for July 11-17.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

On Sunday (July 12) at 11 p.m., crews will close the I-35 main lanes in both directions between Chaparral Road and Slaughter Lane. Drivers will detour to the northbound I-35 frontage road at the William Cannon Drive/Stassney Lane exit (#228) and will re-enter the northbound main lanes at the entrance ramp near Boggy Creek Drive. Drivers heading southbound will detour to the frontage road at the Slaughter Lane exit (#227) and will re-enter the southbound main lanes at the next available entrance ramp.

I-35 AT RONALD REAGAN BOULEVARD

• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly at Ronald Reagan Boulevard
  • Sunday, July 12 through Wednesday, July 15 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit
  • Through early 2021

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive
  • Through mid-July
• Eastbound and westbound Rutherford Lane closed continuously at the I-35 frontage road
  • Through mid-July
• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through September
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 exit (#240) for US 183/St. Johns Avenue closed
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Eastbound and westbound St. Johns Avenue closed nightly at the southbound I-35 frontage road
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Northbound I-35 right lane closed at Oltorf Street. The Woodland Avenue exit (#232B) will also be closed.
  • Thursday, July 16 from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound and southbound I-35 closed from William Cannon Drive to Slaughter Lane
  • Sunday, July 12 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from the Slaughter Lane entrance ramp to Stassney Lane
  • Monday, July 13 through Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Stassney Lane to William Cannon Drive
  • Monday, July 13 through Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from William Cannon Drive to Chaparral Road
  • Monday, July 13 through Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit (#200) are closed
  • Until further notice
• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed permanently at Centerpoint Road
  • Until further notice
• Southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Centerpoint Road to York Creek Road
  • Sunday, July 12 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from York Creek Road to Centerpoint Road
  • Wednesday, July 15 through Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Luther Lane to 32nd Street
  • Monday, July 13 through Tuesday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from SH 45 Southeast to Manchaca Spring Road. The Main Street exit ramp (#221) will also be closed.
  • Thursday, July 16 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
