Interstate 35 Lane Closures List For July 18-24, 2020

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has issued its weekly list of Interstate 35 lane closures, as reliably as triple-digit heat of an unforgiving Texas summer day. But unlike the heat, the list sheds light on spots along the artery that could yield traffic congestion — thus making the weekly compilation a handy guide for savvy motorists plotting out travel plans ahead of time for smooth driving.

The latest I-35 closures list covers the period between July 18-24.

I-35 AT NORTHWEST BOULEVARD

• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Williams Drive to Lakeway Drive
  • Wednesday, July 22 through Thursday, July 23 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Lakeway Drive to Williams Drive
  • Wednesday, July 22 through Thursday, July 23 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

• Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from Jeffrey Way to the RM 1431 exit
  • Through early 2021

RM 620 ROUNDABOUT (I-35 TO DEEP WOOD DRIVE)

• Chisholm Trail closed continuously from RM 620 to Sunset Drive
  • Through Monday, Aug. 3
• Eastbound and Westbound RM 620 reduced to one lane from Lake Creek Drive to Brentwood Street
  • Sunday, July 19 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Westbound RM 620 reduced to one lane from I-35 to Chisholm Trail
  • Monday, July 20 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
  • Wednesday, July 22 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound US 183 Cameron Road exit closed
  • Through September
• Northbound and southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East. Multiple entrance and exit ramps will be closed.
  • Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Northbound and southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East
  • Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• Southbound US 183 frontage road closed nightly from I-35 to Carver Avenue
  • Sunday, July 19 through Thursday, July 23 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• South to north I-35 U-turn closed daily at US 183
  • Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Blackson Avenue to Huntland Drive
  • Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from the Slaughter Lane entrance ramp to Stassney Lane
  • Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from Stassney Lane to William Cannon Drive
  • Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed from William Cannon Drive to Chaparral Road
  • Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from the Slaughter Lane entrance ramp to the William Cannon Drive exit (#228)

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

• Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 Posey Road exit (#199) and Centerpoint Road exit (#200) are closed

• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed permanently at Centerpoint Road
  • Until further notice
• Northbound and southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly from Centerpoint Road to York Creek Road

I-35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

• Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Luther Lane to 32nd Street
  • Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Monday, July 20 through Tuesday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily from Old San Antonio Road to Oak Hill Lane
  • Friday, July 17 through Thursday, July 23 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from Lakeway Drive to FM 972. Multiple exits will be also closed.
  • Monday, July 20 through Tuesday, July 21 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane from SH 195 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard
