Katie Naranjo Elected Travis County Democratic Party Chair
The businesswoman secured overwhelming approval with 63 percent of the vote in filling a vacancy left after her predecessor's resignation.

AUSTIN, TX — Former precinct chair, Democratic club president and political consultant Katie Naranjo this month was overwhelmingly elected with 63 percent of the vote by Travis County Democratic Party precinct members to serve as the next chair.
In the role of Travis County Democratic Party chair, Naranjo will fill a vacancy left after the resignation of former Chair Dyana Limon-Mercado.
“On to November!" Naranjo said in a prepared statment after her Aug. 5 election. "Democrats are poised to pick up local, state, and federal seats this November I’m thankful to be able to focus on efforts to elect Democrats from City Hall to the Halls of Congress right here in Travis County. Texas is the biggest battleground state, and Travis County can make the difference by running up the score in key races and having a big impact across our state.”
